What a fickle weather pattern we’re having! Let’s
hope that we can get through these chilly…no, cold, months without any severe storms. Crocuses and other bulbs are showing their tips, ready to bloom. They and all of us are ready for some warming sunshine, especially the folks so blessed with snow. We may regret that wish
come August, but for now…!

Thank you all for making our December frame trunk show such a resounding success! We had so much fun that we’re going to do it again this coming December! Congratulations to our door prize winners Carol Slaughter, Kathy Crawford, Hunter Smith, and Joan Rickles.

Dr. Hammonds and several staff members joined me at SECO in Atlanta for our annual continuing education meeting in February. She and Diane Ladd presented a credited course on how to promote
the InfantSee program in eye care practices. You will recall that InfantSee is a national program that provides free examinations for any infant under age one. All EyeCare Associates offices offer this screening for your children and grands. Larry Sumner went shopping for the newest trends in frames, as well as took courses along with Niki Spears and Mindy Freeman.

Dr. Pate’s family joined the thousands (any of you?) who ran in the Mercedes Marathon February 14th. He did the half marathon in 1:44, and wife Dana, ran the full 26.2 miles in only 3 ½ hours, qualifying her for the Boston Marathon. Both are experienced marathoners and are passing the passion on to their children. Daughter Claire participated in the planned cumulative runs many local schools support, covering segments of the 26 mile distance over a period of weeks, and running their last
distance to complete a full marathon the day before the adult race.

After conversations and discussions among our staff and with patients, we have decided to invest in offering our patients the option of being able to receive our newsletter in a digital format. Some find this more convenient. So, with this newsletter edition we will be providing those of you who have shared your email
address with us, an online version as well as a printed copy. You be the judge! If you prefer the online newsletter, or as some call it, the “green” format you can choose to receive your future newsletters electronically, in lieu of the printed version. Or if you wish, you can continue to receive both. Just let us know. If we

don’t have your email address and you would like to switch,
please email us to “hoover@webeca.com” (without quotation marks) or call the office.

We’ve just had Spring Break, and there are only a couple more months of school ahead. They will fly by, and soon you’ll be busy with summer activities and travel. If you have college students coming home, or just want to take advantage of your schoolster being more available, do remember to make summer appointments early.

We wish you all a healthy, happy summer of sunglasses wear and sunscreen lathering!

With warm regards,
