Dr. Freeman has practiced Optometry in Arab, Alabama for over forty years. His interest in optometry was sparked by the early research being done with lasers related to optics at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. As a result, he became a member of the third class to graduate from the then new School of Optometry in 1975. During his decades of practice in Arab, Dr. Freeman served as the President of the Arab City School Board, the Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club. Dr. Freeman was the recipient of the Sam Walton Business Award and has received awards from the Red Cross and other organizations for his work with patients following natural disasters. He is married with two adult children.
