In-Office Remote Eye Exams

Experience a full eye exam on your schedule with our in-office remote technology. It's quick, thorough, and convenient.

Eye Exams That Fit Your Schedule

Enjoy the convenience of receiving comprehensive eye care in a way that fits your lifestyle. EyeCare Associates now offers in-office remote eye exams, combining advanced technology with the expertise of our experienced optometrists. You will receive care in the office while communicating directly with a doctor located remotely.

With expanded appointment availability, our in-office remote exams provide flexibility for even the busiest schedules. During these visits, our optometrists can detect early signs of conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.

How It Works

At your appointment, an on-site technician will begin by assessing your current prescription, measuring your corneas, checking your eye pressure, and taking detailed images of your eyes. After the initial testing, you will meet with a licensed optometrist through a high-definition video session, where you will receive a full eye exam in less than 30 minutes. A member of our team will be in the room to support you throughout the remote exam process.

What to Expect During Your In-Office Remote Eye Exam

What To Expect

At your local EyeCare Associates office, an on-site technician will guide you to the pre-testing area, where they will check your current prescription, measure your corneas, assess your eye pressure, capture images and videos of your eyes, and complete any additional testing your doctor recommends.

You will then meet with a licensed optometrist through a high-definition video connection, allowing you to speak with your doctor just as you would during an in-person visit. The full eye health exam is completed in under 30 minutes, and an on-site team member will be with you throughout the entire remote exam.

What’s Included in a Remote Eye Exam?

An in-office remote eye exam functions much like a traditional comprehensive exam. It is designed to detect vision problems and determine or update your prescription. While a full exam can take an hour or more, an in-office remote exam is completed in about 30 minutes, making it a great option for busy schedules.

Before meeting with the optometrist, an EyeCare Associates team member will guide you through several preliminary tests, such as eye pressure checks and visual acuity measurements. The results are then sent to the remote optometrist, who will review your information and discuss next steps, recommendations, and any treatment options with you.

The Same Best-in-Class Care

Just like a fully in-person comprehensive exam, the remote eye exam at EyeCare Associates allows our doctors to detect many eye conditions in their early stages. Our experienced optometrists will review your medical and eye health history, assess your test results, adjust your vision using remotely operated equipment, and answer any questions you may have.

After reviewing your findings, your eye doctor will determine the appropriate vision prescription. Our goal is to help you see clearly as soon as possible, and if a prescription is needed, you will receive it at the end of your appointment just as you would during an in-person exam.
