Bonnie-Kim Schwertz, OD, FAAO, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Optometry. After completing optometry school, Dr. Schwertz completed an optometric residency at the Memphis VA Medical Center and later earn her fellowship.
Dr. Schwertz practices primary eye care in Hoover, AL with an avid interest in dry eye disease. She is an active member in the American Optometric Association, Alabama Optometric Association and American Academy of Optometry. She also serves as President of the Birmingham Area Optometric Society and is a member of the Junior League of Birmingham. Dr. Schwertz is married to her husband and loves traveling, spending time outdoors and exploring Birmingham’s food scene.
